Some may have noticed there's this random image of a girl in my characters section grayed out. That image is actually a place holder for an original character I started back in 2007-ish? It was one of the casualties of my hard drive crash in late 2008 that lost the original 17 and his Island Stage I had done.
I started back up on her about a year ago while I was still unemployed, redesigned her proportions a bit, made her taller and decided to give her big breasts instead of small ones.
This is the general direction I'm going with the palette options. Currently she isn't color separated to handle these options but I'll be doing that here shortly to the best of my ability then re-tackling what is already done on her sheet for color separation.
What sheet? Well its not done but here are some random frames from it.
Her original sheet was all from scratch, granted I only had 2 punches a kick, her basic movement, and all her hit sprites done. Now I'm using sprites from KoF females as bases for certain attacks. Some stuff is still entirely from scratch.
I'm not a spriting pro like Neocide or Roken, but I think with this project I can at least learn to pull myself out of the SB1 quality shading and spriting I've been doing since like 2003.
In addition I've also worked on backstory for this character and decided on how to handle a number of other additions. Such as changing hairstyles(a helper pasted to the back of her head in mugen that changes based on her state, her back hair could be a ponytail, long flowing hair, or a giant pink bow).
Similar to the hair helper she will have a weapon helper that works the same, it will not be a part of her sprite set but a helper that changes position, rotation, and priority based on her state. Even if that means having some hand explods to hold the blade.
The weapon will change based on pallette too. Giant Swords(like The Buster Sword and Ultima Weapon I've made plus one of my own design), Death's Scythe, Polearms, Battle Axes, and so forth.
Chance of her ever getting finished? Lol, unlikely. But doesn't hurt to try and have fun while doing it.

Now for stuff that matters! How is she looking? I can see that there's an issue with how the fully covered legs look on the thighs.
Other than that is there anything obviously striking that looks bad?
Also does anyone have any ideas for the shoes, or any other minor improvements? (Note: I'm going for skin tight clothes so the palette options can easily change any part of her costume).
If you have an idea let me know(especially for those damned shoes), if you have an improvement idea for the shading or want to fix or add something as well feel free to tweak a sprite if you think that would entertain you. I don't mind.
I just want to finalize her before I go all palette separation crazy, and I want to burn her shoes!
When I make more progress and color separate her I'll make a WIP thread, and let people make custom palettes of their own for fun.
